 Resume:
Alwin Michael Schronen is a composer of plenty of soul, love and expression. The high intensity in his compositions leads the texts to a certain dynamic and spirit. Since 1990 his composition work focus mainly on spiritual and secular a cappella choral music. In 2015, several of his works were premiered in Germany as commissioned works (in Limburg, Cologne, Wiesbaden, Gießen) and others internationally performed in the United States, Japan and Slovenia. Some of his pieces were announced compulsory choral works in various choral competitions and events for Masterchoirs, Concertchoirs and others e.g. 2015 in the Netherlands, North Rhine-Westphalia - NRW and Rhineland-Palatinate. In this year he was awarded first prize at “Valentin-Eduard-Becker-Komponisten-Wettbewerb”, Bad Brückenau as the best composer. In April 2014 Schronen was awarded for his composition "POWER OF NATURE" at the competition "Call for Scores" of "St. Andrews New Music Ensemble and Choristi Sanctiandree" (University of St. Andrews, Scotland, UK) in collaboration with Paul Mealor. Alwin Michael Schronen is internationally well known and performed. In February 2013 the Academic Chamber Choir Kreschatyk premiered four compositions of secular music at presence of the German Ambassador in Kiev with a conferment of a certificate for Schronen from the Ukrainian Choral Society. Two commissioned works ("Bellum et Pax"; "Es zogen auf sonnigen Wegen") he especially wrote in May 2013 for State Youth Chorus from the Federal State Saarland for the project: "A JOURNEY- A Musical Theatrical Picture Arch”. 2012 he was second winner at the International Composer Competition of Choral Society North-Rhine-Westphalia. The media characterized his composition "On the moon" (Choral movement for Female Choir SSAAA) "emotionally and deeply touching". “The thoroughbred musician Schronen, who is no longer unknown in the domain of Choral Music, merited the award and the honour for this wonderful composition.” His opus comprises over 150 choral compositions, wind quartets, six masses, and one passion. Some of his compositions are published by PH Publishers as well by Schott Music, Ferrimontana, HAYO-Music, Edition Helbling and AS Music publishing company. After his studies with Professor Klaus Fischbach at the Episcopacy Catholic Church Music School in Trier (Germany) further studies at the Academy of Music in Saarbrucken in organ and conducting followed. This important time with Professor Wolfgang Rübsam and Professor Andreas Göpfert strengthened him to his own compositional activity. His early involvements in music lead Alwin Michael Schronen, born December 19, 1965 in Daleiden, to path of music he is still going with passion. The intensity, which is immanent in all his compositions, is found in the commissioned work "Light&Love" (for the award-winning male voices from the Choirboys Uetersen, conducted by Hans-Joachim Lustig). It is a choral piece, composed to a poem by Charles Anthony Silvestri and published on CD (Order Code RPO6075 on the Label "Rondeau", in 01.10.2013).
