József Karai was born on the 8th of November 1927 in Budapest. He studied composition (with Ferenc Farkas), conducting and piano at the „Franz Liszt“ academy in his hometown. He worked as a répétiteur and choir conductor. Since 1969 Karai lives as a composer in Budapest. His works are known all over the world and published in Germany, in the USA, Finland, Japan, Russia and other countries. |
