Eckbert Schwarzenberger was born in Marienberg (Saxonia). He studied in the music school Zwickau (today Clara-Wieck college), then conducting (mainly choir conducting) and school music at Franz Liszt University in Weimar. After his final exam he studied composition with Hans Georg Mareck. He lives in Thuringia as musician, choir conductor and piano teacher.
